Courtney Whitney joined Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in January 2006 as an Equity Portfolio Strategist in the Investment & Product Strategy Group.

As Equity Portfolio Strategist for the Value asset class, Courtney works closely with the Relative Value and Small-Mid Cap Value investment teams, representing the investment process and current portfolio strategy to Financial Advisors, clients, and outside organizations. His role involves interaction with the Chief Investment Officer and senior management members to monitor investment portfolio activity, current positioning and risk attribution.

Courtney brings 6 years investment experience to his role. Most recently, he was Product Specialist/Research Analyst with Oppenheimer Capital where he focused on value equity portfolios.

In 2005, immediately prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Courtney served in Iraq as the Strategic Planner for the $20.4B Iraq Reconstruction and Relief Fund, culminating 28 years of service in the Marine Corps where he attained the rank of Colonel.

He earned a BA in philosophy from Yale University and an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School. |
