CHAMBER ACADEMY | About the Academy
The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Chamber Academy was launched in 2002 to help educate members on how to do business with governmental agencies and government contractors. With the support of a grant from the Bank of America Foundation, the Academy was expanded in 2003 to provide business related training to help skills development for small and emerging businesses.
The Academy is dedicated to educate and cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit of small business operators throughout the region by providing informational seminars that help the operators of these businesses create self-sufficiency and prosperity. Chamber Academy is complimentary for San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce members.
Each workshop is designed to deliver information quickly, with practical examples and an abundance of discussion.
Academy Goals:
1. Provide a unique opportunity for small businesses in the San Diego region to gain valuable information from experts to help their business grow and succeed for the long term.
2. Help and encourage small businesses to understand the value and philosophy behind continued education.
3. Encourage open communication between peers and instructors. One of the great shortcomings of our business culture is that business people do not engage each other on common issues and situations. Accordingly, the series will encourage small businesses to communicate freely and allow the seminar instructors as well as attendees to question and guide them in ways that truly promote learning and improvement in a real world business sense.
What’s New: In January 2009 the Chamber partnered with ExecuTrain to develop an exciting program that will deal with topics focused on helping our members develop personal and business skills necessary in today’s world. Topics range from sales and marketing to online networking and website development. Click here for the Executrain Workshop calendar..
