Board Member Bio: Richard (Rick) Bregman Market President, Bank of America, San Diego Rick Bregman is known at Bank of America for his efforts to continuously improve customer service, grow revenue and enhance community presence. As Market President, he is responsible for coordinating the efforts of executives running all significant business lines in San Diego to maximize business, civic and philanthropic impact for Bank of America in the region. Bregman is also a Commercial Market Executive with Bank of America’s Global Corporate and Investment Banking group, where he oversees the Bank’s Specialized Industry Teams in the Western United States and leads a team of financial professionals responsible for delivering comprehensive debt, treasury and capital markets solutions to healthcare, education and major nonprofit clients. With a 20-year career in banking, Bregman has held leadership positions in numerous areas. The first 13 years of his career were spent in San Diego Commercial Banking, working in various roles focused on relationship management, business development and corporate credit. He then joined Bank of America via the Security Pacific Bank merger in 1992. In 2001, Bregman was promoted to the position of Market Manager, leading the Bank’s Commercial Banking Regional Office in the Inland Empire. During this time, he also continued to serve as the primary Banker for a few select strategic clients headquartered in San Diego. In 2004, he joined the Bank’s Global Treasury Services division as a Regional Manager. His geographic coverage responsibilities included most major metropolitan areas in Southern California. Bregman stays active in the communities where he has lived. He serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of San Diego County, and recently joined the Finance Committee for the San Diego YMCA and the Host Committee for the 2009 Kyoto Laureate Symposium. He also co-founded a charitable golf tournament that over the past seven years has benefited local causes including Children’s Hospital and Health Center and the Miracle League of San Diego. He is co-Chair of Bank of America’s United Way campaign, has championed the Team Bank of America Diversity Network and served three terms on the California Commercial Banking Executive Council. Bregman earned his bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College. He is a native of San Diego, having grown up and lived nearly his entire life in Point Loma. His hobbies include running and surfing at Sunset Cliffs, golfing throughout San Diego County and watching his two children participate in youth sports. Bregman is dual employed by Banc of America Securities as a series 7/24/63 licensed investment professional and supervisor.
