Lunch of the Month: Pizza Fusion

With a commitment to fresh, organic food and environmental responsibility, Pizza Fusion takes lunch to the next (green) level.  The restaurant is completely LEED Certified, which means that every aspect of the store is eco-friendly.  Pizza Fusion uses everything from hybrid delivery cars to safe, earth-friendly cleaning products to solar tube lighting.  The restaurant’s bar tops are made from recycled wine bottles, walls are covered in organic paints, and all tables are formed from refurbished wood.  All menus are printed on recycled and post-consumer papers, with soy ink, and all take-out containers are made from compostable cornstarch.  Pizza Fusion even uses recycled blue jeans to insulate their stores. 

Pizza Fusion’s dedication to social responsibility and organics extends to their menus as well.  All vegetables are grown and purchased from local farmers, and all meats are certified organic and free-range.  You have to try the delicious organic sodas - we suggest the cream soda or black cherry – you may never go back!  Pizza Fusion’s menu offers a variety of unique, specialty pizzas, like the BBQ Chicken or Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato, or you can create your own pizza on organic flour, multigrain or gluten free crusts, with a choice of fresh toppings and sauces.  The menu also offers various sandwiches and salads, all with fresh, organic vegetables.

On my last visit to Pizza Fusion, my dining partners and I sampled a few of the pizzas – the veggie medley, a blend of seasonal vegetables with or without mozzarella on a tasty multigrain crust, and the hearty personal-size meat pizza, an appetizing blend of organic pepperoni, sausage and mozzarella.  For cheese pizza lovers, Pizza Fusion has an excellent Three Cheese and Organic Roasted Garlic pizza – a mouthwatering blend of Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, aged Parmesan, roasted garlic and light pesto sauce.  We also tried the Portobello Grill sandwich, with marinated and grilled Portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, pesto, and fresh mozzarella on Ciabatta bread – one of the best Portobello sandwiches I’ve tried!  Pizza Fusion doesn’t leave out dessert, either.  Try the vegan, gluten-free "Melt In Your Mouth" brownies or Newman’s Own Organic Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Pizza Fusion has a truly impressive commitment to the environment as well as organic and absolutely delicious food.  My dining companions and I agrees that we’ll be back many times over!
