Board Report

The Chamber's Board of Directors met on Thursday, January 28, with new 2008 Chairman of the Board, Phil Blair.

The Board approved a change to the bylaws, making all employees of Chamber member companies also members of the Chamber under the title Employee Associate Members.  This class of membership is a non-voting class and does not confer any right to attend or participate in meetings of the Board of Directors or any committee of the Chamber.  It does allow for employees of Chamber members to be eligible to receive specific benefits of membership.

John Hawkins, Vice President at Cloud 9 Shuttle, honored Director of Public Policy Angelika Villagrana with the Legacy Chair award for her dedication to the Chamber.

The Board also heard from The Honorable Tony Young, 4th District Councilman, City of San Diego, who reviewed issues now before the City Council.

Renewing members Bryan Lamb, Development Executive for Clark Capital Realty, and Tom Fleming, President & CEO of San Diego Data Processing made brief presentations regarding their companies.

The Board voted on propositions appearing on the February 5 ballot.  They voted to support Propositions 91, 94, 95, 96, and 97 and to oppose Propositions 92 and 93.

Angelika Villagrana, Chamber staff, is honored as a Legacy Chair.
