Board Report The Chamber's Board of Directors monthly meeting was held on Thursday, November 20, 2008. Guest speakers at the meeting included San Diego City Council Members-elect Todd Gloria (District 3) and Sherri Lightner (District 1), Gloria and Lightner shared their goals for the city and discussed policy issues including infrastructure, pension plans, green technology, crime control and veterans affairs.
The Board voted to support the County/City Reinvestment Task Force (CTF) and the San Diego Capital Collaborative (SDCC) Regional Land Bank Proposal on the condition that public funds are used responsibly and are accountable to taxpayers. They also supported the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) San Diego Replacement Facility. Cameron Durckel, Director of Governor Schwarzenegger's San Diego office, provided the Board with his insight on the state legislature's special session on the budget.
