San Diego Center for Jewish Culture (CJC)
In today’s competitive marketplace, it has become increasingly important to develop new and inventive strategic practices for reaching target audiences and new potential customers. By developing collaborations between businesses and non-profits through the support of corporate sponsorships, companies are able to provide invaluable support to worthwhile programs while enjoying substantial tax benefits, and demonstrating community support through their generous philanthropic efforts. With a long history of exemplary programming, the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture (CJC) has developed many wonderful recognition and publicity opportunities for corporations. The CJC, a non-profit organization housed at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS (LFJCC), is the largest local Jewish institution dedicated solely to presenting high quality, nationally recognized programs unique to San Diego County. Our mission is to expand and enrich cultural life in San Diego by presenting the finest in Jewish artistic expressions, encouraging the preservation of Jewish culture and heritage and nurturing new creativity in the arts. A core belief of the CJC is that promoting respect for diverse cultures builds community tolerance. Nationally renowned as a first-class cultural institution, the CJC presents programs including the San Diego Jewish Film Festival, the San Diego Jewish Book Fair, J*Company Youth Theatre, the San Diego Jewish Music Festival, the Samuel and Rebecca Astor Judaica Library with its cadre of programs, and a variety of visual art exhibitions at the Gotthelf Art Gallery. At the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture corporate sponsorships have enhanced programs in innumerable ways while offering an invaluable marketing opportunity for companies to reach potential customers in new and effective ways. Thanks to Target’s generosity, during the last two annual San Diego Jewish Book Fairs, they were able to provide a full day of family-friendly, interactive programming, entirely free of charge to participants, where as in the past, participants have been required to pay. Over 500 families participated (to many of whom the event was previously cost prohibitive) and Target was then graciously recognized throughout the Book Fair, receiving exposure to over 9,000 visitors at the week long Book Fair, including recognition in print advertisements and by media outlets. The CJC’s extraordinary multi-disciplinary programs are largely housed at the LFJCC, in the Potiker Arts and Culture Complex and Viterbi Family Galleria. The building, completed in 2000 boasts the 500-seat state-of-the-art David and Dorothea Garfield Theater (including theatre amenities and rehearsal space), the Gotthelf Art Gallery, the Samuel and Rebecca Astor Judaica Library, and additional multi-use facilities. A Holocaust Memorial Garden designed by acclaimed artist, Toby Kahn sits at the entrance of the facility. Approximately 40,000 tickets are sold or provided annually to residents, visitors, and students for San Diego Center for Jewish Culture events. We offer many wonderful opportunities to get involved with the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture and welcome the opportunity to discuss a customized benefits package to best suit your organization’s needs.
