Mexico Business Center Update

By James Clark, Mexico Business Center Director General

The Mexico Business Center is pleased to announce two upcoming events, the Seventh Annual International Tribute Awards and the San Diego/Baja California Mission to Mexico.

Mexico’s Secretary of Economy Dr. Eduardo Sojo, along with the San Diego Natural History Museum, Project Concern International, Elsa Arnaiz and former Governor Eugenio Elorduy Walther, will be honored by the Mexico Business Center at the “Seventh Annual International Tribute Awards Gala” on Wednesday, December 5. The dinner/awards ceremony will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island.  At publication tickets are still available for those who register directly with the Mexico Business Center at (619) 544-1362.

The Mexico Business Center has also announced that its third annual San Diego/Baja California Mission to Mexico is scheduled to take place April 7-10, 2008.  The Mission opens with orientation and dinner on Monday, April 7, and concludes with a luncheon on Thursday, April 10.

Working in conjunction with SRE and the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, delegates on Mexico III will be meeting with those ministries most involved with issues that matter to the San Diego/Baja California Region—Communications & Transportation, Customs, Economy, Energy, Foreign Relations, and Los Pinos.  We will also meet with the Embassy of the United States, American Chamber of Commerce, Bank of Mexico, and key business organizations that will be highlights of the Mission.    For those who are not well acquainted with the capital region, there will be optional day tours available before and after the Mission.

As with previous Missions, there will be a Participation Fee that covers all meals, ground transportation, receptions and meetings.  Discounts have been arranged at the hotel as well as the airlines flying from San Diego and Tijuana to Mexico City.  Members who wish to reserve a place in the delegation should contact James Clark at (619) 544-1376.
