. New Green Business Alliance Group The new Green Business Alliance Group held its first meeting on Thursday, September 20, at the Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute. This kick-off meeting served as an introduction for a group of 13 Chamber members who share a similar mission of striving to protect and conserve the environment. Douglas Holman, Vice President of Membership observed, “This launch was more unified than the other 15 I have conducted over the last four years. Forming a Business Alliance Group around a common belief system is an approach the Chamber will continue to explore.” The Green Business Alliance Group builds on the traditional platform of the Business Alliance Groups, professional development, strategic alliances and referral generation, and takes its purpose a step further with its focus on environmental issues and green business opportunities. "With its diverse background and deep 'green' bench, the group is well positioned to deliver on its dedication to a more sustainable economy," said group leader Jan Schalkwijk.
