Board Report
The Chamber Board of Directors met Thursday, November 15.
Past board chairs Steve Cushman and Bill Geppart were honored with the Chamber’s Legacy Award during the meeting, recognizing their many years of dedicated service to the Chamber and its mission to enhance the business environment of the San Diego region. Cushman was a long-time automotive dealer and business leader who currently represents the City of San Diego as a Port Commissioner. Geppart, Vice President and Region Manager of Cox Communications, has also continued his extensive community work well beyond his term as the Chamber chair.

The Chamber Board heard two arguments for and against the Foothill South (241) Toll Road. Tom Margro, CEO of the Transportation Corridor Agency spoke as a proponent for the project, and Stefanie Sekich of the Surfrider Foundation presented points in opposition to the toll road. The Board voted to support the Foothill South (241) Toll Road.
State Senator Denise Ducheny also visited the Chamber Board meeting to give her perspective on current issues.
