Public Policy Update

The Chamber’s 2008 “One Region, One Voice” delegation to Washington, D.C., is scheduled for Sunday, September 21, to Wednesday, September 24, 2008.  The mission will bring local business leaders together with White House officials to discuss issues important to the San Diego region, such as transportation and border infrastructure, federal funding including healthcare, water and energy resources, and the military and homeland security.

Last year’s "One Region, One Voice" mission proved to be a successful undertaking, allowing over 40 Chamber members to participate in high-level meetings with Washington, D.C. officials and advocate for policies and legislation that would help San Diego businesses continue to thrive.   As a result of last year’s trip, we have increased our role in support of transportation funding, the new third border crossing and the passenger crossing into Tijuana's Rodriguez Airport, and strengthened our connections with White House decision makers.

We invite you to participate in this rare opportunity to personally engage federal officials on issues of importance in San Diego, as well as meet and network with other business leaders from our region.  Join fellow civic leaders to advocate for regional solutions, learn what other businesses are doing, exchange concepts with peers, and help San Diego businesses make our voice heard in Washington.

Registration includes all meetings, the opening reception, a welcome breakfast with a keynote speaker, two group breakfasts, two group lunches and an additional evening reception. Transportation to most meetings is also included. The Chamber has arranged for discounted group hotel rates at The Madison - A Loews Hotel, as well as discounted airfare with American Airlines.

Register for the 2008 "One Region, One Voice" mission.
