National Urban League Empowering Communities, Changing Lives
Established in 1910, The National Urban League, headquartered in New York City, is the nation's oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream. Locally, the Urban League of San Diego County, founded in 1953, provides direct services to more than 7,000 people annually, countywide through programs, advocacy and research.
Over the next few months, The National Urban League will launch an initiative of economic revitalization in our community, one block at a time. The initiative will concentrate on children’s welfare, jobs, diversity & inclusion, homeownership and entrepreneurship – areas that represent the path to economic sustainability for achieving the “American Dream.”
If you are interested in getting involved in the National Urban League’s campaign initiative planning efforts, contact Kea Hagan at (619) 266-6265 or visit their website at www.ulsdc.org.
