San Diego Center for Children San Diego’s Oldest Accredited Nonprofit Organization
The mission of the San Diego Center for Children (SDCC) is to promote the well being of children, adolescents, families, and communities by providing an array of proven and effective mental health, educational and social services.
In addition to the programs listed, SDCC provides enrichment programs for the children and adolescents living at the Center including recreation, art, poetry, music and performing arts. The Performing Arts Program restores trust and hope in children who have suffered abuse, trauma, or have severe developmental behavioral problems. The Center’s hands-on Music Program, with Director Sundiata Kata and his staff, offers multiple opportunities for children and adolescents to get involved in a positive musical experience of health and wellness. Through music, children and adolescents are able to cope with their pain and aggressions.
These enrichment programs are made possible by the generosity of donors. The San Diego Center for Children presents three major fundraising events each year to expose the community to this worthy cause.
Walk for Kids, March 21, 2009, at the De Anza Cove, Mission Bay.
Annual Dinner, June 18, 2009, at the U.S. Grant Hotel.
Tee it up for Kids Golf Event, October 5, 2009, at the Santaluz Club.
