Board Member Bio:

Sam Attisha, Vice President of Business Development and External Affairs for Cox Communications

As the Vice President of Business Development and External Affairs for Cox Communications’ San Diego operations since 2007, Sam Attisha is responsible for identifying future business development opportunities; negotiating strategic partnerships and new acquisitions; assisting Cox with achieving revenue objectives; and providing leadership and direction to the company’s legal, regulatory, media and public relations, and government and community relations functions.

Attisha previously served as Vice President of Sales for Irdeto Access, a multi-national content security and encryption company. He has also served as Regional Director of New Business for Comcast, was the Manager of Real Estate and Zoning at Sprint PCS, and was Senior Policy Advisor to Supervisor Dianne Jacob at the County of San Diego. He held roles within Cox Communications as the Government and Public Relations Manager in San Diego from 1995-1996, and as National Accounts Manager at the company’s corporate headquarters in Atlanta.

Attisha has been a San Diego resident since 1970, and holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of San Diego where he served as Associated Student president.  He also has an M.B.A. from California State University, Sacramento.

Attisha serves on the Board of Directors for the California Cable and Telecommunications Association, The California Channel, San Diego County Office of Education’s Classroom of the Future Foundation, and the San Diego Taxpayer’s Association. He also serves on the 211 Business Development Committee.
