Board Report The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met on Thursday, January 22, 2009. The Board voted to support the Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute's proposal for a commercial-scale aquaculture project off San Diego's coast. The project will assess the possibility of increasing seafood supplies in an environmentally sustainable way. The Board also voted to endorse the "icansandiego" campaign, which seeks to provide free diabetes and general health resources to businesses, as well as advocate for continued county funding for the program. San Diego City Council President Ben Hueso addressed the Board on key issues for the coming year, including a reliable water supply, infrastructure improvements, the city budget and pension benefits, and the availability of affordable housing. The Board also heard from Alliant International University President Geoff Cox regarding the services and leadership the University has provided in San Diego for the past 85 years.
