BumperDoc is an automotive reconditioning business that specializes in automotive appearance and collision repair. BumperDoc currently has two locations in San Diego County (Kearny Mesa, North County-Escondido). Their unique business model attempts to limit replacement parts and change the way consumers observe auto body repair: Instead of replacing parts, BumperDoc makes every effort to fix the old part, often reconditioning parts to look like new.
BumperDoc’s automotive reconditioning services create an opportunity for customers to save time and money while still receiving superior craftsmanship and customer service compared to traditional methods. Some of their services include: bumper, rapid auto body and paintless dent repair, window tinting, detailing and various other cosmetic services. BumperDoc also uses a waterborne paint system with significantly lower VOC paint emissions. As an alternative to using conventional solvent-based paints, waterborne paints pose less of a health and safety risk to those working with them. In addition, waterborne paint is radically better for our environment.
BumperDoc started a decade ago in a mobile van repairing only plastic bumpers, but in the spring of 2004, BumperDoc moved into a storefront facility, offering previously unavailable automotive reconditioning services to the general public. BumperDoc became San Diego’s first auto reconditioning center. In January of 2006, after a solid increase in customers, BumperDoc moved into a 6,000 square foot facility one block away. BumperDoc’s expansion quickly elevated over 200% in revenue over a span of just three years. Over the years, BumperDoc’s growth and “one-stop shop” model has proven to be a success and their goal is to open locations across the country. In June 2008, Bumperdoc opened its first franchise in North County San Diego (Escondido).
