The Port, in conjunction with the San Diego Economic Development Council, will host "The Power of San Diego's Maritime Sector," in honor of National Maritime Day on Thursday, May 20, 2010. The breakfast will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, to celebrate the local maritime industry. An executive summary of the Maritime Economic Impact & Cluster Analysis will be presented and an informal panel session will follow. Invited to participate on the panel is Charlie Wurster; a representative from the U.S. Navy; UCSD Professor and co-author of the study, Michael Jones; Dole Fresh Fruit Company, Vice President, Stuart Jablon; and Executive Director of Scripps Institute of Oceanography Tony Haymet.
