Bluedominoes

Manufacturer of Safe Art, a line of green children’s art supply products, Bluedominoes creates products that are safe for all children, particularly those with Celiac disease, Autism, ADHD, lead poisoning and those with chemical sensitivities.  Bluedominoes Safe Art supplies are free of the eight most common allergens such as gluten, wheat and soy, uses natural colors, are laboratory-tested to be free of heavy metals such as lead, mercury and arsenic, and are free of chemicals such as bromine and toluene.

Bluedominoes products are the first art supply products to be accepted by the Celiac Sprue and the Feingold Association and have won two major awards – the Dr. Toy’s Best Picks 2009 and the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Most Innovative Product Award. Bluedominoes products use all-natural ingredients, are made in the USA, and use eco-friendly packaging.

Debbie Lindgren and Linda Manaster initially started Bluedominoes in November of 2007 as an online resource for parents and teachers to learn more about how environmental and dietary factors influence children’s health, learning and behavior.   They began developing products after Lindgren’s son was diagnosed with lead poisoning – an issue that affects as many as 1 in 6 children according to the latest research.  When Lindgren’s son started Kindergarten, his teacher discovered that he was very sensitive to the modeling products being used in the classroom. Lindgren contacted the manufacturer and was surprised to learn that art supply companies do not have to disclose ingredients, and that manufacturers are allowed to use heavy metals and chemicals to color their products. 

Lindgren and Manaster wanted to create safer art supply products that all children could play with - products that are free of gluten, common allergens and that contain safe ingredients to give parents and teacher peace of mind.  They assembled an expert team to help them on their endeavor and have released their first two products – Activity Dough and Finger Paints.  The company has a patent pending on both products and plans to release six additional products to round out their gluten-free, naturally colored product line.
