Chamber Recognized for Water Advocacy

Yesterday, the Chamber joined the San Diego County Taxpayers Association and San Diego Coastkeeper in accepting a Special Recognition Award from the California WateReuse Association. Accepted on behalf of the Indirect Potable Reuse (IPR) Coalition, the award was given for the group’s advocacy efforts to support water reuse, particularly indirect potable reuse, in San Diego.

The Chamber and the coalition believe that IPR represents a significant local, cost-effective tool to augment our region’s water portfolio on a year round basis. Because we face a serious water crisis, we must minimize our dependence on imported water and embrace this new water alternative.

Other coalition members include: BIOCOM, Surfrider Foundation, San Diego Chapter, Coastal Environmental Rights Foundation, Building Office Managers Association, San Diego Chapter, Friends of Infrastructure, Citizens Coordinate for Century Three, Industrial Environmental Association, San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council, San Diego Audubon Society, and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, San Diego Chapter.
